Discipline – White
Students focus on following directions and rules by doing what we know we are supposed to do whether we feel like it or not.
Focus – Yellow
Students learn to pay attention by focusing their eyes, ears, and body. We train our eyes to focus on what or whom is important. We train our ears by learning to listen carefully. We focus our bodies by learning to sit or stand still.
Memory – Orange
Students engage in drills to help them improve their memories. We also discuss what sort of things we need to remember at school and at home.
Balance – Green
Students will test their balance and coordination through drills involving kicking and jumping. Students will see themselves succeed as their balance improves throughout the class. Students also discuss how to balance diet and activities.
Control – Blue
Students learn to control their body’s speed, power, and accuracy. Students also learn to control what comes out of their mouths, which is likely the most important.
Confidence – Red
Students will experience struggle and success, which builds true self-confidence. By seeing themselves improve through perseverance, it encourages them to work hard toward further success.
Teamwork – Brown
Students learn the importance of working with others. Through drills, they will practice different types of teamwork and learn how to be a team player at home.
Fitness – Black
Students will stretch and exercise throughout the class. Usually through and obstacle course, they will keep active and learn that fitness is important and can be fun.
This martial arts program promotes essential life skills to preschool martial arts students. Each class focuses on a specific skill we emphasize using creative drills. At the end of the class, students will earn a colored stripe to represent the skill they worked on.
